I know this is an oboe board but I thought I would share this with you. My professor has started a one-handed woodwind program. A man named Jeff Stelling and him built the only successful one handed saxophone after my professor had a stroke five years ago. He lost the feeling on one side of his body and this completely broke his heart, he studied under Eugene Rousseau. But, today he is back to playing and his sax is a beauty. Yamaha sent out parts for them to use and Stelling invented a new mechanism used for the keys. He can play all chromatic notes and ranges as a two handed sax. The program is so more of the sax's can be built and would be given to individuals who aren't able to play with two hands. It's a wonderful thing and I thought I would share this with you.
