Hi all I have questions about Oboe Staples.
If changing the broncal on a English horn or Bassoon can make so much differences to the playing of the horn and the oboe is a much more sensitive to changes than the English horn. What is the effect of changing the staple, One would only assume that the effect would be more?
I know its not a easy to change the staples as you are changing the reed as well unless you rebind them.
Other question does any know what staple this is and better still where can you get them see photo? It has a spotty tuff type of cork looks more like a cork used in car gaskets and at the oboe end has about 30 degrees taper in the cork thus getting the brass end very close to the bore of the oboe and is a lot more durable opposed to the grain look cork used on pads or wine bottles.
I got these staples with my 2nd hand oboe they seem to last for ever and play well or is it I make reeds on them well.
Thanks
Ps how do you attach a file to the post??
