Have you ever wondered how good your pitch memory is? We are looking to recruit a select number of musicians and non-musicians for a study on pitch memory, and how instrumental experience affects pitch memory of different timbres. We are especially interested in those whose primary instrument is the clarinet or violin, but all are welcome until we reach our desired number of participants. Your choice to participate in this study and your performance on this task has no effect on any classes you may be enrolled in. No monetary compensation will be provided, though at the end of the study, you will be provided with an idea of how your pitch memory compares to others in your group.
During this study, you will be asked to identify whether the first and last notes in multiple series of pitches are of the same pitch. This short, online study will take you only about 20-30 minutes. It can be viewed here:

Can high school students take it? I play both violin and clarinet and I have perfect pitch. The study seems to be limited to people over 18 though.

Thanks for your interest! Everyone may take the study, but only the data from those who are 18+ and in college/grad school will be retained.

Thank you everyone who has done the study already. We'd love to get even more clarinet players to participate though!

You seem to be saying only students can join?
It has been a long time since I was a student.

Got 90% on perfect pitch and 50% on pitch memory. There was some background noise during the pitch memory section... wonder if I would've done better in a quieter space. Oh well.
