I quite like the inherent sound quality these produce (or, "enable" you to produce). But yes, they usually need refacing.
I sold an un-refaced one a year or so back, and sort of regret it (but I have TOO MANY mouthpieces and a new baby...)

Yes that is true. For me at least I’ve found they give a richer and warmer sound.
I done the same thing a few years back however that particular mouthpiece needed work on rails and tip however still playable.
I wish I could own an Kaspar, Chedeville and another Lelandais but with a family to look after it’s just not possible.

I have one which is extremely bright, and seems to choke on the note sometimes. But it is not marked “superiere” so I suspect it’s one of their cheap ones.
