Anyone know if there are band arrangements of Spohr Concertos 1 & 3? If so, anyone played these?

Not that I’m aware. I do however have a full score of an arrangement of the 2nd and 3rd movements of Spohr 2 with military band. I think is either from the late 19thC or early 20th.

(sample score pages available)

Just to note: I have not played this arrangement, I came across while searching for another work in arrangement for band. The arrangement looks somewhat heavy-handed (writing out ornamentation, really?).

This is very difficult piece of music. I think that would be too difficult for most bands to handle. The clarinet part is hard enough as it is. I do not think a band arrangement is available.

ChuChu has made a good point. Given the string writing, relevant band members would need to be as virtuosic as the soloist. You hear enough pro violinists struggling with the some passages in the clarinet concertos, so imagine community band players trying to keep up. Might explain why so few arrangements seem to be available.

...do you have any particular movements of "1 and 3" in mind to play?
