I am looking for any and all information on a RM Malerne Bass clarinet #754. It is a one piece hard rubber (about as much as I know). No idea what year it is, quality it is? And so on. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I played a Conn one-piece hard rubber clarinet in high school that was said to be a Malerne stencil. It had a automatic double register key, and was in every sense a professional instrument.

After the Eb contra-alto player graduated, I played the Selmer rosewood contra-alto. It only had a single register key, and the altissimo range was limited. I much preferred the Conn.

That’s strange, every Selmer contra alto should have 2 register vents, I don’t believe they ever made a contra clarinet with only one. Likewise all of the hard rubber single piece Malerne bass clarinets should only have one register vent, only the wood ones rarely have a double register vent.
