Hi,
I recently bought an older Selmer Signet Soloist clarinet at an auction here in the Netherlands. From what I've heard it was used by a US Army band, probably in Germany.
It has serial number 307355. I'd like to know how old it is but cannot find the serial numbers of these USA Selmer clarinet and the people from Conn-Selmer couldn't help me either and auggested I'd ask on the internet.
Is there someone here who can help me with this search?
Kind regards from the Netherlands,
Ingrid

I thought I would have the information, but I don't.
From clarinet perfection: "The Soloist possible had their own set of serial numbers starting possible in the 1950s."
The lowest serial number I've seen is 18549. I haven't seen any serial number with a 6 digit serial number. They may not have had just one series of numbers.

This post won't help Ingrid (sorry), but might help someone who finds this thread while trying to date other Selmer Signet Soloists. I still have the one my parents bought for me about 1970, serial number 19156.

The clarinet arrived yesterday. It plays quite welk I must say. It sounds different than my Buffet RC Prestige but still quite good.
Unfortunately there was no other information included accept that it was last serviced January 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany. So I still don't know its age. But I'm happy with it.
