If by Backun mouthpiece you refer to the Hawkins collaborated Vocalise, I found them to have rails that are too thick and they sound "thuddy" and unresponsive. This is the exact opposite of the mouthpieces that Richard Hawkins had produced in years past.
A shame.

The blank used is very different from the Zinner. They are a bit on the resistant side.

I think probably Legere European reeds need mouthpieces with more resistant because they are incredibly responsive and very easy blowing! As a result on my BD5 which is easy blowing mouthpiece to me, with Europeans, I can play very fast and with even greater articulation compared to cane reeds.. but I got problem while keeping long and piano(silent) notes in tune.. They get out of tune and unstable.. So, maybe a Vocalise would be much better matching with European Legere..
