Today, December 20, I was asked whether my son and I would play unaccompanied clarinet duets for Christmas eve church service. It's a long story, but basically the music director found out she needs to fill 15 minutes with incidental music that does not require an accompanist.

I have a nice arrangement of Mary Did you Know that we played 2 years ago, but all the other Christmas duets in my house are boring beginner level stuff or only one verse in length. Any suggestions of some nice arrangements? I am not asking for free music, but it does need to be downloadable so I can get it quickly. The players are myself (fairly advanced amateur who plays in a community orchestra) and 18 year old college freshman (high school first chair & all state participant who now plays in college wind ensemble - not a music major). Given the limited time, "intermediate" level music is probably most suitable.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can't find what you're looking for online, get a hymnal and play the two treble parts. Free and accessible.

I've had mixed results for quality of arrangements. I found a violin duet of O Holy Night that was pretty decent, but was dissappointed in some of the other material. I also purchased the 61 song Duet book. I found several things in the book that will be great for an occasion when I actually have time to prepare, but not on such short notice. Thanks

If you can find three string players, the arrangement of the Stamitz Quartet Op. 8 No. 4 is great fun. I recently did it with a trio of string colleagues to balance out a program containing the Brahms Clarinet Quintet, and we all loved it ... as well as the audience.
