 Tempo Marking

Hi all

A piece's tempo is marked dotted quarter note = 155

I'm a bit confused. If I set my metronome to 155 BPM is that correct?

I guess the piece is in 6/8? Then yes, unless I read the "dotted quarter note" wrong.

Edit: in practice, I would probably set the metronome to 76 (full note).
