I was wondering if some of you could help me with my Clarion F.
It won't voice well.
In fact neither will my altissimo "D", my chalameau "E", or my throat tones.
Better still, why stop there. Even if I could voice these notes it would be predicated on my ability to HOLD THE DANG clarinet in my exhasted arms and wrists.
THERE IS SO MUCH DANG SNOW IN THE NORTHEAST UNITED STATES!!! THERE IS NO TIME TO PRACTICE AFTER CLEARING SNOW, MUCH LESS ENERGY TO DO SO!!
There...I feel better now that I said that. : - )

I'd invite you to Little Rock, Arkansas ... but it snowed last night, and we are shut down today. Of course, 4 inches of snow makes everyone go crazy here, like it's the end of the world!

Send it out west...we need it!!! There should be 5' of snow on the prairie between Boise and Sun Valley. It's a huge hay producing area. There is NO snow...and nobody is set up to irrigate. If there's no hay, the animals can't be fed. Guess I'd better start hoarding steaks!

Re clarion F & altissimo D, if you press down harder with your right index finger on the pertaining ring, do those notes play better? If so, probably the linkage between the two joints is not right, maybe misaligned.
Re snow, tell me about it. Don't forget to mention the cold. This has been a "real" winter in Vermont, like I remember from when I was a kid. Except when I was a kid I didn't have to pay for fuel.

Yeah, I'd say that the bridge doohickey is preventing the pad above your right index finger from coming all the way down. Turn the joint so that mechanism is disengaged and try those notes again.
If that's it, it is a really easy fix.......just wedge a micro screw driver under the bridge portion of the top joint and nudge it up (lightly, check often) if you go to far (the 1 and 1 "Bb" won't work) then wedge finger between the sidekey and the bridge thingy and press on the corresponding 1 and 1 "Bb" cup to bend the OTHER way.
