Greetings from Minne-snow-ta!
Is it OK to play the Mozart Concerto 1st movement for an audition if the K. 581 Quintet 2nd movement is included in the excerpt list??
The other excerpts are Polovestsian Dances, Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique (the C clarinet stuff in movements 4 & 5), Mendelssohn Scottish 2nd movement, and the Hebrides overture).
I guess ultimately I can play whatever i want, but WWASD? What would Anton Stadler Do? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Greg, I don't know about your main question. However, I'll venture a guess that AS would have some difficulty divining the other excerpts on the fly. :-)

You don't say what you're auditioning for or what was included in the repertoire instructions about solo literature. You should probably ask whoever is running the audition.
I'm assuming you're not suggesting *substituting* the Allegro from the Concerto for the Larghetto from the Quintet.
I don't personally know why playing Mozart as a solo piece (if you're free to choose) would be a problem just because there's Mozart included in the required excerpts. But it isn't my organization you're auditioning for.

We need to know more to answer your question.
Do the requirements say to include a solo in addition to the specified excerpts?

Are they asking for a fast and slow movement in two different styles? More info is needed.
