Does any one know who is the clarinet player?
What orchestra is this?
It looks like he is playing a Boehm clarinet with Bb mechanism, but it is not his clarinet but the sound that makes me listen again and again to this recording.
Well, Elina Garanca certainly adds to the pleasure.😀
Thanks

There’s a comment by Wilfred Berk that says it’s Piet Honingh. Having looked, not all that carefully, at a few photos of Piet I’m not convinced it’s the same guy. The ‘other’ Piet has too much hair.

It's Jacques Meertens, retired from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2013. Fine musician. (Wurlitzer Reform Boehm)

Thanks!
The clarinet explains his "German" sound- when I listened for the 1st time, I thought it was a German orchestra because he sounded like one and later I realized it was not because the clarinet was Boehm system.

This is the Concertgebouw, no doubt, with the Concertgebouw Orchestra under Mariss Jansons. Likely December 25, 2008 (Christmas matinee).
