 Post pinned sound

I have a Normandy 4 clarinet that earlier this year developed a hairline crack LH section through the Emblem and down to the first key.
I tried super gluing it several times, but it would always open up again.
That said I sent it on to my repair guy who pinned it.
It required 2 pins. and it looks like very good work.
The thing is the Clarinet seems to have a harsher sound than prior to the Pinning.
I'm fairly new to the Clarinet and wonder if this is just my imagination or is this to be expected.
If so why does this happen and will the sound change back to the way it was before?
