Buffet full Boehm

Greetings All,

I am a new member of the boards, however, have spent much time perusing them over the past couple years. I have recently acquired a Buffet full boehm serial number 32241 in good shape. I cannot locate any information about the specifics regarding its' model designation online or through this board. I am looking for some help!

The ser no would date it to the early 1940s.
Buffet did not designate models in those days (there were no RCs Festivals DGs etc) there was just basically the one model, even back then referred to as R13 though not the same R13 as the one you know today.
However the basic model was available with a range of keywork options from standard 17/6 through to the the full Boehm.

Buffet did not give its clarinets model names or numbers until the introduction of the R13 in 1955.

However, the American catalog assigned its own numbers. The full-boehm model was called the R-16-3/4. See http://test.woodwind.org/clarinet/BBoard/read.html?f=1&i=51143&t=51135.
