Can you recommend some good iphone or android apps available for recording yourself? I'd would like to get as high quality as possible. Thanks.

I honestly think the voice memo app that's already on iPhones works just fine. It seems to record everything and I've never thought about recording with something different.

Hi,
I used the standard iPhone voice memo app as well and it worked fine for scales. But I got the feeling that it evens dynamics when I used it for music - fortifying the piano and muffling the forte (what is a good feature when you want to use it as a voice memo and not for music, btw)
I get better results with the Multi Track Song Recorder by Derrick Walker - even though I only use "one track" for my recordings, but I still think that this is not the ideal solution.
I'm curious if anyone would have any recommendations about a better way to do this.

The problem with any iThingy solution (and other Mobiles as well) is that the microphone isn't really optimised for music dynamics - its main purpose is to deliver speech. When used for music, it will just prove that you've been there, not much more. :-/
If you're serious about recording, something simple and cheap as a Zoom H1 (less than $100) will produce far superior results.
Another way would be Audacity on your PC/Mac, even using the built-in microphone. Free.
