Hi! I don`t know what clarinet to choose: there are some opportunities to buy old Selmer series 9 or 10 in good condition or new Backun protege clarinet. I don`t tried this models before, so I`ll risk a little, but can anyone compare this clarinet models? I play different music and I need a clarinet that will be good everywhere, in classical music, jazz, folk...
(also, if you know some other good clarinet models with price not more than 2500$ please write about them.)
Thank You!

I like the Series 9 as it's a reasonably large bore clarinet. Haven't ever tried any Backun clarinets so can't comment on them, but that doesn't mean I'm dismissing them.

You might want to check with Tom Puwalski. He is a regular here,
Jeff and plays on some of the new Backun instruments. He is also a reseller.
