BBC Symphony Osmo Vanska/Michael Collins Clarinet in the Mozart.....
Mozart Clarinet Concerto starts at.... 12:30 minutes with an interview of Michael Collins.
The big clarinet solo (clarinetist not mentioned on broadcast) in the Nielsen starts at 1 hour 51 minutes.

The Nielsen soloist was mentioned at the end: Richard Hosford. I don't know if the BBC were miking him up, but all his solos came over more strongly than I've ever heard - really impressive. If that was anywhere close to natural balance, it's a great advert for what can be achieved with Eaton big-bore instruments.
Although a rather different playing philosophy, Collins was as impressive in his way. He took the outer movements of the Mozart really fast, but rather than sounding rushed, it just gave the whole thing an edge-of-the-seat excitement.

Thanks for hearing Richard's name I missed it. As most you probably know Vanska is a clarinetist as well, so I'm sure he had a lot to say about tempi, etc.
