I recently purchased a Selmer Paris clarinet, serial number K88##. I am thinking that puts it from around the late 20s or early 30s. I have seen mention of the K series clarinets on the board previously and people seem to like them. It was professionally reconditioned and plays very well. I paid around $500 for it, fully reconditioned - good deal, priced about as expected, or could I have done better? Thanks

reasonably good deal if you had it reconditioned after purchase; awesome deal if you bought it already reconditioned. Some K series go for much more.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Yes, it was $500 after the recondition, not before. Rhanks again, Mike

My favorite Selmer, and I have many. Mine is K2790, a "Brevette" (and, yeah, I always spell Brevette wrong). It was like the K series was Selmer's sweet spot. Not the excesses of the L and M series, and not the compromise of the CTs and Series 9's.

Again, such comments really make me feel confident in my choice. Thanks so much. MikeBill wrote:
