So I am going through my closet of instruments and I was thinking today, how old my instruments are.
my buffet was made in 1975, I got that one back in 1994/5.. love the sound of it!
but I have two other clarinets and the companies that made them were bought by conn-selmer! I called them up and they do not have serial numbers that are older than SIX YEARS OLD! grrr...
And there is nothing found on the internet. I checked.
So this is what I have and all i want to know the age of my clarinets:
VITO clarinet (Bb): number: A56823/ 7712 (got that back in 1990, still love my plastic clarinet. Just wonder how old it is)
Eb piccolo clarinet: Esprit LeBlanc paris (Got it in 1998 as a high school graduation gift. Love the sound it makes , too bad there isn't a lot of music for it)
B85180 -serial number
and the paris plant is closed.
hopefully someone on this board can help me

When you said clarinet plant I was thinking of some actual plant! LOL
Anyway, looks like you know the age of the clarinets already. You mentioned when you got them...

Looks like your Vito 7212 is of 1987 vintage.
I have a 1987 Vito 7214 and it is quite nice.

>> Clarinet Plants Do not exist anymore! <<
Maybe you forgot to water them... like most plants, they spit out the extra water they don't need from the bottom...
