 Hello everyone,

i have a question concerning my new old Buffet, that i buy on a flea market.

 Which model have I?

There are only Buffet Crampon signs on each piece and i dont know much about Buffet (i play on Marigaux clarinets).

The Buffet homepage says this, when i type in the sn F72... (without F):

 Brand : Buffet Crampon
 Instrument : N 1 Sib France
 Serial number : 72...
 Year of manufacturing : 07/09/1962

 Brand : Buffet Crampon
 Instrument : BC 1102.NI
 Serial number : 72...
 Year of manufacturing : 23/02/1988

some points for a better classification:
flat spring for the C#/G# key
shape of the key guide is a cylinder with slot cut down the middle

 thanks for Help

BC 1102 is the number for an E13 ... however I think they had an different serial number scheme from Buffet's professional models and didn't think they were ever numbered with an F prefix (but I could be wrong!!)

So if its a 5 digit number starting 72xxx it must be an R13 from 1962

The E13 would have a K-prefix. The F-prefix designates the instrument was made for the European market -- hence "... Sib France" instead of "... Sib Amerique" in the entry at the Buffet sight. Sounds like an R13 made in 1962, pitched at A=442. Nice find at a flea market!

 Best regards,
 jnk
