Maybe, but their plan for restructuring sounds like a good one. I guess it's time that orchestras start adapting to a changing audience. Maybe it is a good wake up call that all orchestras need to start exploring other options, even those in the top 5.

It is always interesting to me to find that a board of directors always manages to 1.) first screw things up and then 2.) to publicize a wonderful, sure fire plan to make things all better again.

I will be impressed IF the resolution of all this preserves the musician's retirement funding. That was mentioned as a contributing factor, but not mentioned the the sketchy list of things that the Board of Directors' miracle will address.

How can a people (US) be so silly as to let great institutions suffer while throwing money at crap that ain't even music?
