Quite possibly the hardest clarinet I've ever tried to find info on is a G. Valette Paris with no joint at the bridge (single piece fingering). I have been given vauge info to say the least. I understand that maybe it's just a distributor name and that the accual manufacturer would be impossible to find. If anyone has a SOLID answer and not a bunch of "I thinks" then please tell me what I have...good luck and great playing. James

If you search for Valette here you'll find the only documented information available. There's no more documentation anywhere that we've ever found.

The G. Valette clarinet you won on eBay is a one piece Eb clarinet.
Check to see if it is LP or HP.
If it is HP, the value is minimal...GBK

LP = low pitch = A = 440 to 444 hrz .
HP = high pitch = A = ummm, I have seen different values, like 454 hrz.
High pitch instruments are tuned almost a half step higher. If you want to know what high pitch sounds like mixed in with low pitch, listen the Rahssan Rollan Kirk playing the tenor mated with the Manzola and the Stritch. While Kirk makes that work, I don't think anyone else ever has.

I just joined, after noticing the posts about this brand of Clarinet. I have one we believe is a LP serial number 5497. Is there any other info out there about the instrument? Is there book or web site to find out the age and value of the instrument?...Jazzthirty
