The Clarinet BBoard

I just happened to be strolling through a university bookstore this week and saw a black medical bag, $38, for the medical students---along with stethescopes, blood pressure cuffs, etc.
When I took the measurements of the bag and compared them to a pouchette case I have here at home, the pouchette would fit into the bag but my standard case would not. While I can't be sure that the bag is insulated, it is VERY well-padded and sturdy. Also, there is an outside zipper pocket and pockets inside. I'm seriously thinking about taking my pouchette case to the store and trying it inside the medical bag.
Is there anyone else here who has a clever or unusual alternative to a clarinet bag or case cover?

If the following link works, it shows what the bag looks like, if you click on the bags on the left:

How about a diaper bag? <grin>
Seriously, it would be hard to imagine a very well padded bag that would not provide insulation. On the other hand, the bag made for the Buffet pouchette case fits perfectly and displays the coveted Buffet logo, for probably no more than double the cost of the medical case.
Of course, I don't use my pouchette case or cover that much, 'cause I usually need my eefer, in which situation I carry my Leblanc triple case, which is a matched set of luggage with my bass clarinet and basset horn cases. No covers.
Best regards,

When I only had a Bb, I used to use a computer bag that easily fit my case, music and accessories, back then it was about $25 CDN + tax (I think it's about $30-35 now, I remember the company was Buxton and they still seem to be in business.

Chrome Bags makes excellent stuff - durable enough for a bike messenger, which was its original intention. I bought one of their laptop cases 3 years ago, and it fits the double pouchette case beautifully. This thing has taken a beating and still looks very new.
I accidentally broke one of the clasps (my fault - I closed it in a car door, doh!) on the shoulder strap, and they sent me an entire new strap for free even after 3 years. Amazing!
That particular model isn't made anymore, but I bet the new larger laptop backpacks would work well too.
