Does anyone know of a good recording of the Bassett Soliloquies? Archivemusic.com doesn't have any, which seems odd to me...

Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is a commercial recording. Dr. Verdehr at Michigan State sent me a recording on CD. I would be willing to burn a copy for you if you are interested. Great piece.

 Brian,

If there's no copyright restriction, why not put it on youtube so we can all give it a listen?

Thanks,

Forest

There is a copyright ... If Dr. Verdehr made a personal recording, and she's amenable, and the public performance rights have been obtained ...

Youtube is awash in copyright violations ...

 Mark,

Thank you for you response, I should have thought about that. I guess burning a copy is out of the question too.

Thanks,

Forest

 All,

Just to be clear, I don't undertand copyright all that well, but I believe that I can burn a copy for Zack for his personal use and there is no problem. Is that correct? I don't want this to turn to a big deal. I had no plans to put it on UTube.

 Sargeant Jungen,

I'm sorry my response has caused you concern, I know you were only acting in a kind and considerate manner. Basically, the copyright law means that the owner of a copyright owns the permission for others to copy the music, literature, etc. In this case, Dr. Verdehr must give us permission to hear her recording. At least, that's the way I understand it.

Thank you.

Dr. Leigh Wakefield from Concordia College just gave his annual recital earlier tonight and he performed this piece. I wonder if he would let me put a recording on here or some other site... i'll do some asking.
