The San Antonio Symphony went through similar troubles several years back, to the point of bankruptcy. They hired a new director, Larry Rachleff, spent some time rebuilding and are now at the top of their game. Hopefully Columbus can come back even stronger as the San Antonio Symphony did.

I was curious about their financial situation so I looked at their recent tax filings.
For the most recent year, after contributions, gifts, public support and ticket revenue they were still running a deficit of about $1.1 million.
They are trying to reach out to their audience by doing a number of summer pops concerts, opera and ballet performances as well as regular concerts.
However, it seems to be just another case of rising expenses and fewer dollars coming in to offset it...GBK
