 Mahler 6

Hi everyone,
I'm playing Mahler 6, Eb clarinet.
Is it normal to play the last movement with Eb clarinet, or D clarinet? It's written for D, but I cant imagine where I could find a D Boehm clarinet in Germany.
Has anyone don't this, and therefore have a transposed part written out?
Thanks

Most people use a transposed part although I think the third register writing is easier on D. Your librarian should put a call out to other orchestras as there is now a printed part available. Good luck,

When I did it the Eb player played it all on the Eb. I've always wondered what quality the D would bring to a large clarinet section. I'm sure it would blend quite nicely.
