Just ran across this video of Bernstein conducting the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Beethoven 6 in 1973. Looks like raw video judging by the time code.

Is that Gino Cioffi doing the clarinet solos? Main solos begin at 10:56 and 18:37.

I believe that's Harold Wright sitting principal and Felix Viscuglia on the end. I don't know/recognize the others.

Clip was from DVD set called "The Unanswered Question: Six Talks at Havard." DVDs have a lecture by Lennie on different themes which he ties to music and then a performance of the piece that he was referring to in the lecture.
I don't think this was "raw" footage in that it's identical, if my memory is correct, to the final DVD. These were very crude video preps in any case so that may mislead one into thinking if they are unedited.
The collection is interesting viewing at any case. It must be Lennie Week or something. PBS had "Reaching for the Note" on the other night during the American Masters timeslot.

NEW POST:
Does anyone know where I can find this video again? It's obviously long out of YouTube.

Chris....I think I may have the complete Harvard Lectures and could take a stab at finding the specific performance if you REALLY want it.

I tried the Wayback Machine (Internet Archive), but access to this video has been blocked, presumably because the copyright owner demanded it.
I don't know of any Cioffi videos, but you couldn't mistake him. He weighed well over 300 lb., though I'm told he lost weight toward the end of his career.

I don't remember him being that large, just kind of moderate, but this was in 1958-60, I think. Was that the end of his career?
