 Hi Everyone,
I am the principle clarinet at my high shcool and i have been given the task to find music for our clarinet choir this year. We just need one piece thats less than 6 min. or could easily be reduced to that. I have an eb soprano and alto clarinets so along with what the school owns im certain we could fulfill most part requirements. I am looking for something that is attainable by highschool bands, but still would not be something we could sight read and play really well the first time through. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ryan

I'm not sure who publishes them, but check out some works by Dr. Norman Heim. They're fun, good listening, and not too difficult.

Going chronologically, here's a few suggestions. Not all of them need all sizes of instrument.

Erbach/Anderson: La paglia
Bach/Howland: Three baroque dances
Mozart: Adagio, K. 411 (several arrangements exist)
Mendelssohn/Feldsher: Allegro vivace (from 5th symphony)
Debussy/Howland: Petite suite
Schickele: Monochrome III

The Erbach and Bach are short; you might combine either of them with one movement of the Debussy.

The Mendelssohn (published by Belwin Mills) appears to be out of print, but you might be able to borrow it from somewhere.

Perhaps your school band library has a few items?

If time permits, perhaps you might even transcribe something.

 My email adress is rly3131@charter.net.

Thank you all for your fast responses. It is most definately a help to have a forum like this instead of me stitting in a music store looking through music for hours (actually that isnt bad but) and not necessarily picking good classic literature that we would all benefit from.

Thanks Again,
Ryan
