I have read every thread available concerning clarinet barrels, and understand there is a WIDE difference in opinions. That said, I did not read anything concerning the C-12. Emily plays a C-12 with a David Hite "D" mouthpiece, and Traditional Vandoren reeds at 2.5 strength. (We haven't approached the ligature issue yet!) Does anyone have experience with either a Moennig or Chadash barrel on this horn? The Moennig claims to "improve the intonation of every clarinet." The Hite web site, in its section about the Moenning barrel seems to talk up the barrel. Did David Hte design his mouthpieces to work best with them? I also have noted that most of you that have discussed barrels in the past recommend trying several. Thanks for all your help!

Chris P asked; "Has she got any intonation problems with the stock C12 barrel?"
Her intonation is pretty good. Her private teacher plays an R-13, and they are pretty close (other than the fact that Emily has much less experience!) I guess my biggest curiosity has to do with the Hite/Moenning/C-12 combination. Again, did David Hite design his mouthpieces with the intention of playing them with a reverse taper style barrel?
