Does anyone know where I can find some boigraphical info on Henri Lefebvre or Cyrille Rose? I am doing a research project and am having trouble finding information on these two...particularly Lefebvre. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Pamela Weston's book and Oskar Kroll's book will give you quite a bit of information.

Also, both individuals have had articles about them in past issues of The Clarinet magazine ...GBK

I recalled this name as inventor in a patent, however without the letter b, but yes, a Henri Lefevre-Selmer. US pats #2,710,558 [1952] and 2,846,917 [1955], perhaps {your] Lef?? In Lawson's "Clarinet", on pg 210 is a brief mention of H LefeBvre and others recording "themes" from ?current? operas in 1904. No mention in Brymer, you might check in the Groves Dict and other cl books. LUCK, Don

David - For computer-searching, I suggest you leave out the B, perhaps it helps the FR pronunciation, but is apparently not used in "English" countries. I made a quick search on my AOL-Google, and found a number of interesting-sounding sites, several related to Selmer, 2 in [my non-fluent] French and a German. The search DID include a "B name" Some history is shown, I'd be surprised if Groves didn't at least mention him. Luck, Don

Thanx, Mark, Don
