 I've read Selmer's Web site about the 3 models of plastic clarinets but what diff. would a beginner/interm. player notice betw. them? Thanks, as always.

 David;

The main difference between the various Selmer plastics is bore size. The model 1400 is .590". The model 1401/577 is .577". They are both straight bored. The CL300 is polyclindical bored at .573". It also has undercut tone holes. As to a beginner sensing the difference, I'd say no way.

Any of the above would make a good beginners horn. Be sure to buy a student MP. Don't use the MP that come with a new plastic horn.

Just the opinion of one person.

Cheers,

Paul
