All this talk of Mozart these past few weeks has rekindled an affection for the music of that period and for some reason gave me the urge to give my discs of Sabine Meyer playing the Stamitz concertos a spin.
Aren't they brilliant! of course the perfection of Sabine's playing brings them to life so much so that if she had been around in his day I'm sure Stamitz himself would have actually died a very rich man instead of the broke chap that he was!
Anyway my question to your ever knowing BBoard is this: Which edition of these concertos are the best to buy?
I have the Peters edtion of the 3rd concerto and am about to buy the 10th concerto (my fave) but am unsure where to go for it. I Would love to find something close to what Sabine Meyer plays on her recordings.
Any ideas/comments on this would be most appreciated...
Best Wishes
