Hey, ever hear any of this guy's stuff? I just heard a sample the other day for the first time, The Daweswood Suite for piano, cello, violin and clarinet. This is really very pleasant music. It turns out from a quick websearch that Mr. Sowash has done quite a bit of repertoire for the clarinet. Funny I've never heard his music before.

Also, the clarinetist for the Daweswood Suite was Craig Olzenak. Very nice sound and phenomenal sense of pitch.

Paul,

Run a search here, and you should find some information on how to get a free piece from him (The View from Carew, trio for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano is what he sent me, and I think it's the same for everyone). After listening and playing around with that, I purchased the quartet Anecdotes and Reflections and am currently working on that with a full quartet, and should have it ready to perform soon!

Anyway, he's got a lot of good stuff, and is definitely worth giving a listen to.

I know Rick personally and have been performing some of his works recently. He is a very nice guy - and interesting too! His real job is like a "historical storyteller" and he is really good! Visits schools and such.

He has written extensively for cl, cello, pno - something like 14 trios.

In January/February I'll be playing two recitals of his music in Cincinnati...
