Hi everyone,
One of my students has been waiting for 2 months for an inverted Bonade lig. His mom just got another email this week saying that it wouldn't be available until the end of September. This is not the retailer's issue, BTW, as far as we can tell...
Is there a shortage??

If it is WW/BW, they are VERY SLOW in replenishing their stock.
For example, on their web site, they show that they are out of (and "on order") many sizes Gonzalez FOF clarinet reeds, yet when I spoke to Phil Shapiro (Davie Cane) about this just a few days ago, he had no idea why because he has plenty in stock and has not been contacted by WW/BW to resupply them...GBK

The axis of commonality here is that the Bonade ligs and Gonzalez reeds are both distributed through Conn-Selmer. FWIW, I have half a dozen Bonade IR ligs in stock myself, so I don't think the issue is a shortage of the product per se. Maybe they let stock run down through the Summer and they are just waiting for the big Fall restock. Fear not, there will be ligs for the masses.

Regarding on-line retailers: When I decided to play bass clarinet I wanted to get a decent mouthpiece right away, so that I could play on it from the beginning. After asking for advice on the board, I settled on a Selmer C*.
I assumed that WW/BB would have it in stock, but it was on temporary back order. Being eager and impatient, I checked on-line and found it in stock at Musician's Friend, and for a better price at that. The Musician's Friend catalogue features guitars, amps, and keyboards, but they have wind instrument supplies as well.
I rented a bass clarinet to try out before buying my own on eBay. The music store didn't have one on site. By the time it came in the mouthpiece had already arrived.

Conn-Selmer is apparently having a hard time digesting their acquisition of LeBlanc. I was a LeBlanc distributor for quite awhile before the acquisition.
I can no longer order through LeBlanc.
Conn_selmer does not recognize me as a dealer EVEN THOUGH I get mail from them addressed to "Dear Authorized Dealer".
Like so many things in US business in the past decde or so, it appears this acquisition was not planned or thought our very well.
Does anyone else have additional information?
