Around 1970, my parents gave me a treasure -- a brand new genuine wood clarinet. Everyone in high school band was happy for me. I don't remember what happened to the old metal clarinet, but I felt very grateful as I played 2nd clarinet. Over the years, as an adult I often got the opportunity to help younger people as we played together.
Alas, time moves on, and it is time for this jewel to help another student.
An instrument repair person told me that this instrument should be worth around $600.00. He says the nickel keys are a rare sign of quality. But the most important thing is that this woodwind can bring to a younger person the joy and development that it gave me.
The case is not in top condition. One of the latches is broken. Corks and pads appear to be in good condition. Everything else seems to be in good condition.
I am asking $475, but I will consider any offer.
