Fully Restored Leblanc Bass Clarinet for Sale
Author: Frank Diaz

Hello All!

I have a completely restored Leblanc Bass Clarinet for sale. The model is an L-400 and dates from the mid/late 1970's. It is made of grenadilla wood, not plastic. This instrument has undergone a "super" overhaul. In addition to having been completely disassembled, cleaned, mechanism fitted, tone holes leveled and repadded, many of the keys have been freshly replated (nickel). The body and posts were buffed and the wood oil treated and looks nearly new. The key cups are absolutely flat. No key bending tools were used on this bass.

The pads are dense, white kangaroo skin that resist sticking.

The case is wood and is in excellent condition. This instrument comes with a floor peg, new cork grease, a new pull though swab, new polishing cloth, mouthpiece (although you may want to find one on your own as well) and 2 new reeds.
The range is to low Eb.

I'm a college trained clarinetist (with many years performance experience on bass clarinet) and Mechanical Engineer with 30+ years repair experience.

I've tried this instrument with the Rose Studies as well as the Klose, Baerman and Lazarus Methods. It's also been tested with a string orchestra by myself and others.

The lower register has a solid core. It blends well with both the clarinets and the lower winds. The upper register speaks easy and has a beautiful, clear voice.
I'm asking $2.550.00 plus shipping.

I presently have this instrument on eBay with lots of photos, but I'm willing to sell it off eBay if something can be worked out and no one has bid on it yet. If you would like the present eBay link, please let me know and I will post it.
Location of the instrument is Alameda, CA
Thank you!

Professional restorer of all clarinets, saxophones, oboes and bassoons.
