Finally learning to play Klezmer music!
Author: Joel Clifton

I'm learning to play Hora Staccato by Dinicu/Heifetz. My teacher, the great Klezmer player Michele Gingras, is helping me learn all the tricks, such as vibrato on the long high notes, bends, and general playing techniques. This is also kind of forcing me to learn circular breathing, because I can't seem to remember to breath where I should. I just wish I could figure out how to double tongue. I can't play it any faster than about 140 or so.

Before last semester, the only Klezmer music I ever really remember hearing was the clarinet solo in Fiddler on the Roof. Klezmer is so fun to play!
