Hi All!
This is a mixed board question- I am looking for quintets, quartets or sexstets written in klezmer style for clarinet and strings, such as the prokofiev. There must be ore of those pieces out there!!
help me find them, please!!
thanks, michal.

There is a quartet for clarinet and string quartet by the composer Osvaldo Golijov called The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the blind that is apparently in a klezmer-influenced style and has been recorded by David Krakauer and the Kronos Quartet. I have not heard it, but there is a CD readily available. I would imagine that it is much more difficult to play than the Prokofiev!

"Dreams & Prayers" is for one player with clarinets (if I remember correctly) Bb, A, Eb, Basset Horn and Bass. I heard Geiora Feidman (sp?) play it and it was a wonderful piece, but perhaps tricky to perform.
