i am a 65 yr old learner of the clarinet. Recently I came across Klezmer music, and have bought sheet music for solo, duets and trios. I would like to find a source of CD recordings by players skilled in the genre, e.g. Feidman, mainly to help me understand what it should ideally sound like. If anyone can advise me on players and where to find their recordings, please do. I do not mind ordering from the U.S. (from Australia).

The best sources for classic Klezme expression on Clarinet are Dave Tarras and Naftule Brandwine. More authentic than Feidman and preferred by most players.

When you surf over to Tara Publications, pick up the book by Henry Sapoznik called "The Compleat Klezmer". It's got a CD chok full of Tarras and Brentwein (sp?).
Disappointing for me, however, was the fact that the notation is not transposed for Bb so you'll have to do that yourself.
