Hi,
I'm 14, and I go to the Manhattan school of music prep program. I've posted on the clarinet board many times, but this is my first time here. I play mostly classical, although I do play the clarinet in a jazz combo at MSM and the bari sax in my school's jazz band. I've been interested in klezmer for a while, as i like playing different styles of music besides classical, and was wondering how/where i could learn how to play. Are there books that could teach me, or would an amauter klezmer ensemble be willing to take on a beginner in that style?

Danielle, go to <www.livingtraditions.org>
Right now, there's nothing much there, because they're upgrading their website. But you just might want to email them with your question, anyway.
In NYC, there have to be loas of opportunities to learn to play klezmer, from the sources!
