This sounds like one of those questions, "we all wanted to know... but were afraid to ask".

It's not a "stupid question" (whatever that is) at all, CC.

Primarily, as I understand the scheme of things musical, it refers to style of playing. While, some countries of origin for the music and style of playing use predominintly Albert type instruments, modern (Boehm) horns work just as well. It's not so much *what* (type) horn you play, it's *how* you play it  :)
