Has anyone heard of the brand Rene Dumont Paris? I just cot a B-flat concert series clarinet made by them. I am curious about how old it is, and if is worth anything. it has a beutiful dark reddish-brown grain (probably rosewood?), standard Boehm key config., and a 4 digit serial number starting with "20" and an "F" stamped under the keys of the top joint. If anyone has any info. please let me know.

I currently have two Rene Dumont clarinets, and a couple of years ago I restored and sold two others. They're decent clarinets, probably vintage 1940s-60s, and in my experience have been good players when properly restored. Not a lot of market value, however --- enjoy them for playing, but you won't get rich selling them. I have no info on their history or manufacturer, unfortunately.
