Hello!
I recently purchased a LeBlanc "A" clarinet (vintage late 1950s) and had it overhauled. The original case is not in the best shape and I would like to replace it. However, I have not been able to find replacement cases for just an "A" clarinet. There are after-market combo cases made for Bb and A clarinets, but I would prefer a separate case for the A clarinet. I've tried Woodwind & Brasswind and Musicians Friend, as well as Amazon and Ebay. Does anyone have ideas where I might find such a case?

Hi ya, Winters make a large number of factory cases. Reed and squeak have softer style case. If you are feeling rich a wiseman.

I have one that was only ever used to deliver a new A clarinet to me. It's been sitting in a closet for some years. I'd be willing to part with it for a less-than-new price. I'm in San Diego, but could ship it domestically. You can find my email address in my profile.

Ebay's a great place to find a case for solely your "A" clarinet, as is a Harbor Freight store: online or retail.
If I may be so bold, your failure to find what you're looking for on ebay may more be indicative of a need for (I say tongue-in-cheek) more "creativity" on the search line.....
to point: small gun cases, with their padded egg crate foam make good clarinet cases...they really do.

I don't know if Jakob Winter still make single A clarinet cases now that Buffet student level clarinets have gone over to using back-pack cases.
They used to use the same outer shells as B12 or E11 cases and cost around £1 more than their Bb counterparts.

I looked and could not find an A-clarinet case either.
However, it looks like any aftermarket case (Protec, BAM, etc.) can be modified to fit an A clarinet, as long as the bell is separately stored (not on lower joint).

If you mean the Ortola cases, then they have a longer lower joint section to fit both a standard or a full Boehm Bb, so they're not strictly single A cases unless you modify the top joint section to fit an A clarinet.

If you're looking for a single case for a full Boehm Bb without having to do any modification, then these are ideal.
