 Soloist The Regent metal clarinet

I just found one of these for less than $10. I have searched on this forum and other sites and have found a couple of mentions but nothing more. I know the Regent is a student clarinet made by the Ohio Band Company. This one is from 1944-45, according to the serial number. The engraving is not at all like the regular Regent. Does it being a "Soloist" make a difference in the quality of the clarinet?

I'm thinking it would be a pretty cool towel rack or some such. It has a badly bent cup, which is beyond my skill to fix, but I am still curious.
