Greek clarinetist, Spyros Mourikis, professor of clarinet at the Athens Conservatory and solo clarinetist with the Athens State Orchestra, is yet another soloist with all the tools - prodigious technique, superb musicality and a luscious sound:

There are numerous other videos, including Nielsen, Weber, Debussy, etc...

Thank you for making us aware of Mr. Mourikis. I am "one of those" who does not care for the basset clarinet version of Mozart (I've heard that it may be because there is a tendency for many who try it, to mistakenly overemphasize the lower notes.....because they are physically further away). But Mr. Mourikis makes everything sound so smooth and natural. BRAVO!

I still prefer the standard soprano clarinet version though.

Spyros has been a great clarinetist for a long time. Years ago, when he played a Vandoren CL4 mouthpiece, he had a brighter sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJrJhqTQqHg. Then he switched to a Kuckmeier mouthpiece. Not sure what he's playing on now, but he sounds excellent.
