 What is this instrument?

I had a dream where I was playing it. Can’t figure out what it’s called. Might be some sort of basset horn, but I have no clue. Extra points if someone knows where I can buy one.

That's an ever buree. Basically a German system clarinet/tarogato made from a ram's horn. The only one I've ever seen in person is the one at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix AZ. They apparently come from Mongolia and are based off of folk instruments of the same name. Still not sure if they overblow at the octave or at the twelfth. Here's one I took a pic of:

Do you know somewhere I could find one for sale?

Unless you have thousands of dollars burning a hole in your pocket I wouldn't purchase one. It would involve getting in contact with someone from Mongolia as you will never find one for sale outside of Asia. Most of the ones that exist are custom made. I've been searching for one for years with no luck.

I've considered making my own out of curved PVC, it shouldn't be too hard to salvage keys from a junk clarinet to make one.

For a similarly wacky instrument check out the Yamaha Venova which is much cheaper and more available. If you like the look of the animal horn you could also look at getting a hornpipe.

Or a soprano sax which it essentially is.

Chris. it's not a sax it's a clarinet. The horn shape is mostly decorative. There's a cylindrical metal tube inside. I've seen a photo somewhere where you could see that but I can't find it again.

Have a listen, it's obviously clarinet like.

I don't think it's really German system fingering. It looks like something unique to me.

Oh yeah. The outward appearance with the natural taper of the animal horn hides the fact it's a cylindrical bore instrument.
