 I wrote a sonata!

The music. The sheet music.

Thanks for checking it out if you did. How difficult would you say this piece is? Also, what do you think? I've written Romances for Viola, Minis for Flute Consort & Tenor Sax, a clarinet concerto, piano sonatas, and a symphony as well. I hope it doesn't sound like bragging, but my composing is partially the reason I took up clarinet and bass clarinet, so I could learn how to write a good woodwind part.

A score reading video if y'all prefer.

Quite the ending there. Listened through, liked some parts pretty well. Not technically very hard, except maybe a couple bars in the Scherzo.

Thanks for responding Philip! I ask about difficulty because currently I'm studying a Gavotte by Rameau and the Rubank Intermediate Method. I'm figured if I could learn the Gavotte, and maybe the solo to Easy Living sung by Billie Holiday then maybe I could make a YouTube video where I take a crack at sight-reading the piece, and/or maybe just practicing it as another intermediate level study piece.

I'd make me feel gitty to learn one of my own songs. It's no fun being a composer that can't even play their own tunes.

The piece sounds awesome and original! I like it a lot! Enjoyed the ending as well :)

That was super kind Ray. Thank you. The ending was sort've a last minute decision. I felt the piece was starting to lose momentum, but I wasn't sure about how to musically end it. However, the inspiration for this sonatina was a cute cashier that was being hit on by all the customers for hours it seemed. The cringe-iest visit to Publix (grocery store for my international friend) that I've had to put up with.

She'd probably scream I'd imagine. Also, it'd be hilarious if this ever got a legit. recital and the clarinetist had to practice like crazy "okay, this yelp has to be PERFECT!" Critics hundreds of years from now'd be judging like "that scream wasn't historically accurate...".

I sight-read the sonata. Click here for giggles.

If you're going to publish it, correct the spelling of scherzo

Thanks for mentioning that Bennett. It's a silly sonatina, so one of the titles is misspelled on purpose, but "Scherzho" should be fixed. I've shared the sonatina on YouTube in full and IMSLP, so if that's what you mean by publishing. I realized that "actual publishing" means sending a draft to a publishing company.

Not exactly a clarinet centric work, but there is a bass clarinet part here for those if you're looking for some easy sight-readinh material. This one's called the Frog Suite. It was inspired by a pale frog I noticed on my doorstep a while back. Thanks for checking it out if you did.
