 Bay mouthpiece & ligature
Author: Linda
Date:   2001-04-19 15:31

I recently purchased a Bay H2 medium mouthpiece and covered ligature. What reeds has anyone used with this setup? I am using Australian Vintage and Zonda reeds, #3....Mr. Bay recommends his own reeds, but they are difficult for me to find. (Mr. Bay is a delight to speak with, very helpful!)

I also have a Bay H2 Medium I purchased from Mr. Bay. Yes, he's a really great guy with great products. I use a Vandoren V-12 #3. The rule of thumb for the Vandoren V-12 reeds is to buy one strength lower than you normally use because of the way they're cut. In other words, a V-12 3 is more like a normal 3 1/2.

Vandorens can be found anywhere.

HIs reeds can be found in International Musical Suppliers. You can ask him where to find them anyway.
