I have just been looking at that notorious auction site and noticed a recurring word, "WOW". " Such-and-such clarinet, only $xxx, WOW !"
What does WOW mean ?

Without warranty ? Worthless old wreck ? Wobbly old whistle ?
Worst over the world ? Worn-out woodwind ?

EOA. (Expression Of Awe)

Does it come with white gloves, and an "individual serial number"?

Ed, "very good" indeed! I took Alan's frivolous post as such and just had some fun with the 3 letters.

Some of the clarinets coming out of the Far East are indeed "very good".

I remember reading about one on Phil Pedler's "clarinetpages.net". The intonation was so good that he put it in the "professional" category. It earned *Phil's Favorite* award and is the Hutchen / LJ Hutchen LJH-CL3 which is made in China and can be reviewed here:

For a very complete evaluation of just about every plastic clarinet coming out of China and elsewhere, may I suggest the following link:

There used to be a company named Worlds of Wonder with the ticker symbol WOW; they sold Teddy bears. Perhaps they've branched out.
